THE VAULT

MEMBERS-ONLY LISTENING

LIVE FROM THE PDX JAZZ VAULT

Fifteen years of live recording, open only to PDX Jazz members. More than four hundred performances taped at the Biamp Portland Jazz Festival and at PDX Jazz shows through the season, alongside radio hours and conversations with the artists who played them.

Together they amount to less a catalogue of concerts than a recording of a city: where Portland went to listen, and who it turned out for, year after year. Some of these rooms are gone now, and the tape is the only place those nights still exist.

THIS MONTH

Trane at 100

John Coltrane turned 100 in September. PDX Jazz has marked his anniversaries since 2006, from the Chasin’ The Trane festival that year to Coltrane @ 90 in 2016, and for this month’s Vault we went back through the tape for three of them.
